Inosuttuit Nipingit Drumdancers performing at banquet!
Posted Saturday, 03 Oct 2009, 12:47 pm ADT
The Inosuttuit Nipingit Drumdancers will be performing at the Trapline Marathon banquet on Saturday, October 10th. They have been drumming together for four years now and getting great reviews. Their performance will undoubtedly contribute to the multiculturalism you can anticipate in Labrador! Actually, multiculturalism may be an understatement when they are complimented by Newfoundland comedian "Snook".

Drum dancing has been part of Inuit musical life for centuries. Drum dancing was originally thought to be spiritual and was used to contact special spirits of the hunt or fishing or for protection. In our case, may they bring good fortune to the runners!
