Pre Race Report
Marion Landry and her sidekick Don have literally done it all it would seem! They live in Montreal, Quebec and their first emails to the Trapline web site stated, their flight was already booked and where do we mail our registration!
They joke that their "full tilt" is not fast anymore but we'll have to wait and see that. They ran the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Marathon in 2008 and enjoyed their run. The fact is they have been running for 18 years. Marion completed her 200th marathon in New Mexico in March making that a marathon in each of the 50 States and DC. They had already completed all of the ten Canadian Provinces and three Territories in 2008!
We all know that the Trapline Marathon doesn't compare to the hundreds of miles covered by trappers back in the day but Marion is one of the few runners who could probably handle a trappers schedule. She has run over 50 ultra marathons, including 161 miles for 72 hours and 124 miles for 48 hours!
The Landry's say, "We love small marathons and are really looking forward to our trip to the Trapline Marathon. We too are excited to visit Labrador and meet all of you associated with Trapline."
