The community is a "Can Do" community of nearly 9,000 people, where new business opportunities are never far away. Our entrepreneurs are taking on new challenges and partnering opportunities every day. Our people have a diverse mix of Aboriginal, European and other origins; collectively they have built a community with a positive, business friendly attitude and a vibrant arts and culture sector. In 2008, the municipality was at the backbone of the Trapline Marathon providing monetary support, human resources, equipment, materials, facilities, logistic know how and an untold amount of support from the Mayor that has endured to this day!

The Canadian Diabetes Association is active in more than 150 Canadian communities and supports people living with diabetes through research, advocacy, education and services. They are supported in their efforts by a community-based network of volunteers, employees, healthcare professionals, researchers and partners such as the Trappers' Running Club!

Air Labrador
Air Labrador is one of the oldest successfully operating airlines in the World. Established in 1948, as Newfoundland Airways, the airline operated float-equipped aircraft from their base in Gander, Newfoundland. Primarily engaged in charter work, they also flew mail and freight to Northern Newfoundland and Labrador. Today, the company employs over 100 people and is one of Goose Bay's largest civilian employers. In 2008, Air Labrador became the first sponsor of the Trapline Marathon and assisted with preferential rates, marketing and provided complimentary tickets for a variety of uses for the race organizers.

NunatuKavut
NunatuKavut ancestors have lived in Labrador long before Europeans set foot on North American soil. The land was part of them, and they were part of the land. The well-established community of Happy Valley-Goose Bay supports a large Inuit-Metis population. They are proud of our rich trapping history and traditions in the Lake Melville region. In 2008, 2009 and 2010, NunatuKavut helped sponsored the traditional finish line reception that was a huge hit!

Labrador Grenfell Health
The Labrador-Grenfell Regional Health Authority (Labrador-Grenfell Health) provides quality health and community services to a population just under 37,000 and covers the communities north of Bartlett's Harbour on the Northern Peninsula and all of Labrador. Labrador-Grenfell Health is a long standing supporter of the Trappers' Running Club through the supply of medical personnel at the Trapline Marathon, advice as required, through active participation in the club and financially through programs such as BEGIN (Begin Exercise Gradually Now). BEGIN aims to make people healthier by targeting people with conditions such as diabetes, stable heart conditions (NYHA Class 1 and 2) and obesity.

Minipi Outfitters
Labrador is the last place on earth where you can catch 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and, yes, even 10 pound brook trout on a dry fly. Labrador's interior is still made up of 112,000 square miles of uninhabited wilderness. And since 1978, it has been the home of Coopers' Minipi Camps. In 2008, Minipi Outfitters were a huge local sponsor of merchandise and running food for the race participants, along with tonnes of encouragement and moral support!
