Training
What to expect on the Trapline?
In this section we didn't want to come up with a silver bullet training program but to give some practical tips about this course.

Hills
1. The first eight (8) kilometers are a very gradual incline.
2. At thirty five (35) kilometers there is a very short hill but at a steeper grade, so overall the course is not hilly but a couple of points to consider.

Point to Point
3. The course starts in North West River. So the morning of the event you have to allow for a 35 minute bus ride in your routine.

Temperatures
4. The weather will be cool early in the morning but don't expect to be freezing to death in the Labrador wild.

Pace Bunnies
5. There are no official pace bunnies. Maybe a few real rabbits. So pace training prior to the event is recommended using either a pace band, a Garmin or the method of your choice.

Surface
6. The surface is entirely asphalt.

Motivation
7. The course will be quiet and peaceful. If your experience is in the city with lots of stimulus at every corner, rock bands and so forth, you may want to do some training in reflection and meditation and get comfortable with the peace and solitude. This sort of environment can lead to some personal best times but you have to relish that state of being!
